Basic information about the organization:

Ryazan Association of Creative Education was created in 1992 (the first registration – 14th of February 1007, and the second registration– 26th of June 1997, according to the license ¹ 32). The main organ of the organization is – Council of Association. The number of members of the organization – 25, no staff workers, the most active members-15, volunteers – 120, freelance specialists – 10-30 people (depending on the projects).

The goals of Ryazan Association of Creative Education are:

  To foster civil society and democracy development;

To generalize, further develop and spread methodologies and techniques of creative education; to organizationally, methodologically and financially support the projects designed by the members of the association and other experts working in the field of education.

 To develop cooperation between students and teachers so that to foster development of positive character traits and talents.

 To increase the quality of teachers and teaching materials.

 To prepare a student to perceive the world as a whole, to help students develop their responsibility and dignity.

 

  Ryazan Human Rights School is a member of Ryazan Association for Creative Education and it is also included in the structure of NGO “Ryazan Memorial” (with which Ryazan Association for Creative Education has cooperated since 1997) and it conducts independent activities, actions and educational programs.

 

Ryazan Human Rights School:

Was founded in September 1997 with support of the Ryazan Association for Creative Education, Ryazan Historic Human Rights NGO “Memorial” and now it is one of the main constituents of Memorial and RACE. The students of Ryazan Human Rights School are high school students from various high schools in Ryazan. By June 2005 the school held its 9th graduation ceremony.

The number of students if 25–30 per group. The program offers 30 classes (90 hours). The classes run on Saturdays from 15.00 till 18.00.

Besides teaching process, the school organizes human rights monitoring, youth actions and campaigns, seminars, trainings, round tables, exhibitions, concerts, competitions, special human rights educational programs aimed at reduction of xenophobia, discrimination and intolerance in the Russian Society.

 

The goals of RHRS:

§     To teach basic human rights concepts and principles, to let students know about human rights movement in Russia, about main human rights problems, about the history of human rights;

§     To acquaint the students with basic Russian and International human rights documents;

§     To develop respect to human rights values and tolerance

§     To teach intercultural communication and to develop skills necessary to analyze historic and current social, political, economic and social events, to develop ability to defend one’s point of view

§     To teach how to use regional, national and international human rights mechanisms

§     To develop active civic position and to involve youth in public actions and human rights campaigns

 Sources of financing of Ryazan Association for Creative Education:

§     Donations from members and various organizations/individuals

§     Grants for special programs and projects

§     Donations from activities held by Ryazan Free Lyceum

§     Other legal sources

Ryazan Human Rights School has received many grants from various foundations. We participate in a series of national and international projects and programs: “A man in history. Russia- 20th century”, “Racism and xenophobia in Russian Mass Media: Monitoring and Civic Action” and other.
